Here are our new hours now that the holiday season has ended:

Monday — 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Tuesday — Closed
Wednesday — 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Thursday — 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Friday — 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday — 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday — Open for special events only

Notice the big difference: We’re back open on Wednesdays! So come sit ‘n knit with us!

Congrats to Mary Ann who was the winner of the $150 Name-It and Knit-It gift certificate! We’re sure she’ll be able to put it to good use!

During the contest, we had a total of 326 projects named and 292 projects completed! WOW!

Thanks also to Pam for all her help at the Yarn-Over and thanks to everyone who brought fantastic food to share.

We’ll be starting a new contest at the shop where you can earn discounts on purchases! Sound good!? (We thought so…) So watch for details on that in our e-mail newsletter and coming up here on the site very soon!

Holiday Hours

Just a quick post to let you all know when we’ll be open over the holidays! We hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and make time to stop in to the shop and see what’s new and sit and knit with us!

• Monday, 12/21: 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Tuesday 12/22 – Sunday, 12/27: closed
• Monday, 12/28: 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, 12/29 – Wednesday 12/30: closed (as usual for Tue./Wed.)
• Thursday, 12/31: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (closing early for New Year’s Eve)
• Friday, 1/1: closed
• Saturday, 1/2: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.*

Normal hours will resume the week after January 2nd.

* Note there will be no New to Needles classes held on December 26th or January 2nd.

Don’t forget we’re having a Beanie Bash on Saturday, November 28th. We’ll be knitting hats all afternoon and we’ll have lots of patterns to share! Plus, yarn will be 10% off!! (For more details, click here.)

Finally, many people have been asking about our Annual Holiday Yarn-Over! Yes, we’re doing it again this year! We’ll be celebrating on Saturday, December 5th from 6 PM to midnight. Bring a dish to share, dress in your pajamas, bring your knitting, and come enjoy the holiday cheer! As always, we’ll be having lots of great sales!

PLUS we’ll be drawing the gift certificate winner from our Name-It and Knit-It contest at the Yarn Over! (You have a few more days to finish up project and get those entries turned in!!)

Upcoming Classes

Koolhaas Hat Class – Saturday, December 5th, 1:00 PM
We had such great success this past weekend with our two Koolhaas hat classes, that we have scheduled another class for those of you who missed the first one! Be sure to purchase your pattern in advance (we have copies of Interweave Knits Accessories magazine for sale, which contains the pattern) and stop by the shop early to get your yarn and start your “homework” for the class!

New to Needles — every Saturday, 10:30 AM
Our ongoing beginner class continues every Saturday morning. If you have a friend or family member who wants to learn to knit or just needs to brush up on their skills, come by and knit with us!

What’s a Mitt-A-Thon?

Our Halloween Mitt-A-Thon is the kick off to autumn and winter knitting … and more specifically, getting ready for knitting holiday gifts. What better gift than a pair of fingerless mitts!? — They’re quick and easy and friends and family with cold hands will certainly appreciate them!

Even better… any yarn purchased on October 31st (1-6 PM) to make fingerless mitts will be discounted 10% off! We’ll also have lots of great patterns for mitts, from beginner-level to more challenging.

Come sit and knit with us all afternoon and kick off your holiday knitting!

New Goodies at the Shop!

And just in, we have a few more Tilli Tomas shawl kits in stunning bright red — the kits contain four different Tilli Tomas beaded yarns that are breathtaking!

New to Needles for beginning knitters is every Saturday morning at 10:30 AM.

My First Hat – Saturday, November 7th at 4:00 PM
We’ll be making a knitted hat in the round, adult or baby-sized!

Felted Clogs - Saturday, November 7th, 14th, and 21st (3-part class) at 1:00 PM
Great for men OR women, adults and children, these felted clogs can be knit plain or embellished and super fun! Let your imagination run wild!  They make great gifts too!

If you can’t make it on the 25th, we have our beginner New to Needles class every Saturday morning at 10:30 AM.  The cost is only $10 and materials are provided!

If you’re not-quite a beginner, we also have lots of great “next-step” classes, such as our My First Hat class, which will be offered this Saturday, October 17th at 3:30 PM.  You’ll learn how to knit in the round and do some simple decreasing and other techniques to knit an adult or child sized hat!  (Perfect for gift-giving!)

Illusion Knitting with Mary Ann
Thursday 10/8, 6-8 PM
Cost: $10 + materials
Learn how to do “illusion” or “shadow” knitting!  It’s a fun technique that has a hidden surprise! Bring your favorite illusion pattern or we’ll have several printed for you to try!

Cables: Untangling the Mystery with Mandi
Sat. 10/10 at 1pm -OR- Mon 10/12 at 6pm
Cost: $15 + materials
If you’ve been intimidated by cables in the past (“What on EARTH does C6B or C4F mean!?”) then this workshop is for you! Learn the basics of how to cable during the work shop, then join us for a Cable Sampler Scarf knit-along on the remaining Thursdays in October! (Makes a great gift!)

Halloween Mitt-A-Thon
Saturday, 10/31 – 12:00-6:00 PM
Kick off the autumn/winter knitting season by knitting fingerless gloves. It’s the perfect opportunity to get started on holiday gift-knitting OR start a pair of fingerless mitts to participate in the shop’s fingerless mitt swap in December!!
Any yarn purchased that day to make fingerless mitts will bediscounted 10%!!
