Beginner Value Classes

New To Needles

If you are new to needles or just haven’t knit in awhile, come in and we will get you started. This is a special value class.

You will learn how to knit in the round, read a pattern for multi-gauge / multi-size projects, substitute yarn to design your own colorway… and, oh yeah, make a hat! This is a special value class.

Socks

Sockology 101: Beginner Magic Loop Socks (top-down)

Sockology 101 is designed for knitters who are completely new to sock knitting.  Experience knitting in the round (i.e. hats) is a plus, but not required.  You’ll be making a pair of plain stockinette socks using sport or worsted-weight yarn.  (Recommended yarn: Schaefer Lola)

Sockology 102: Simple Lace Magic Loop Socks (top-down)

Build on the skills learned in Sockology 101 by moving on to a fingering-weight yarn and a simple lace pattern.  We’ll be using the popular Monkey pattern designed by Cookie A. (used with permission).  These socks look difficult, but I promise you can do it!

Skill level: Beginner/advanced-beginner sock-knitter (basic knitting skills required)

Sockology 103: Beginner Toe-Up Magic Loop Socks

Sockology 104: Two-at-a-Time on Two Circulars (top-down)

Want to get your socks done so that you can wear them as soon as possible?  Then knitting socks two-at-a-time may be just the solution for you.  In this class, you’ll learn to knit socks two-at-a-time on two circular needles.  Prior experience with sock knitting is a must for this class.

Sweater Classes

The Wonderful Wallaby Sweater

This is a very popular seamless sweater/hoodie. It can be made from a child’s size 2 up to XXL…. the pattern booklet includes all the sizes. Be sure to come by the shop and check it out. It’s great fun to knit and there’s lots to learn. Two 2.5 hour sessions.
