Meet Laura!
1 Comment » The shop is very excited for you to meet Laura Holder, our new teacher joining the TNKS family! She’s a super-talented knitter and we’re so happy to have her here.
We asked her to give us a brief bio so you all can get to know her a bit better…
Originally from Bentonville, Arkansas, I have lived in Nashville for 8 years now. I rediscovered knitting about a year after moving to Tennessee and have been addicted ever since. I used to work in the music industry doing graphic design, but took a break 2 years ago to teach knitting and work in a yarn shop. Now, I work from home in East Nashville with our two beautiful dogs, Mattie – a border collie, and Kodi – a malamute. I hope to someday publish a knitting book of patterns that I’m slowly-but- surely designing. My favorite things to knit are top-down sweaters and hats of all shapes and sizes.
Laura will be teaching her first class with us, a Lace Cardigan, in June. For details, please visit our class page. Laura is currently finishing up the sample which will be on display soon, so stop by the shop to check it out and sign up for her class!
Follow us to Stitches South!
Some of you may know, but for those who haven’t heard the exciting news — The Neighborhood Knit Shop will be exhibiting at Stitches South this year! Even more exciting, we’re partnering exclusively with Maggie Jackson of MaggiKnits to offer a great selection of her books, yarns and project kits at the show!
To learn a little more about Maggie Jackson’s designs, watch her Talk of the Town interview filmed at the Neighborhood Knit Shop when she visited us earlier this year.
Also, if you attend the fashion show at Stitches South, be sure to look for Maggie’s designs on the runway. We don’t want to spoil any surprises, but they’re going to be lovely–bright and colorful for spring and summer, and great for all sorts of body types.
We’ll be in booth #523. (You will find a map of the show floor here on the Stitches website.) Be sure to stop by and visit us!
